Annual BRRR New Year's Float Trip |
|
You, your family and paddling friends are cordially invited to
join us for the First Annual Blue Ridge River Runners' New Year's
Float Trip; one or more days of floating the Upper James River (and
maybe some other streams) beginning on Monday, December 26, 2011 and
ending on or around Monday, January 2, 2012. Click

| 2012 dues are due January 1. Your
membership will expire if you do not pay your dues. Don't miss out

The Outboard Inner Tube |
 This
may be the world's first twin-engine Outboard Inner Tube. Vernon
Green built this beauty about 25 years ago. It was cleverly and
neatly constructed from two modified weed-eaters and a truck inner
tube, among other things; it even has weed-guards on the propellers.
Steering the contraption is accomplished by accelerating one engine
or the other. It actually worked quite well.
Vernon launched his Maiden Voyage on the Staunton River between
Long Island and Brookneal during the annual Fun and Float Day. It
was an exciting trip; he managed to run out of gas, and somehow
broke his foot. |
